Nikhil Chowdary Paleti

I work at the intersection of machine learning and systems, focusing on GPU performance, CUDA kernels, PTX-level optimization, and training and inference efficiency at scale.

Current Obsession

Lately I have been spending a lot of time tuning programs around how the GPU actually behaves. That has taken me deeper into CUDA, kernels, PTX, SASS, and the low-level details behind training and inference performance.

How I Like To Work

I like problems without clean, predefined solutions. The kind that force me to read, benchmark, experiment, and piece things together on my own until the answer becomes clear.

Started full-time at Nuro in ML infrastructure

Working on ML infrastructure for faster training, lower-level systems work, and CUDA kernels that support large-scale model development.

Joined Waymo as an intern on the Systems Intelligence and Machine Learning team

Worked on machine learning systems and infrastructure problems in a production environment, with a focus on the tooling and performance work behind large models.

Started my MS in Data Science at UC San Diego

Began graduate study at UC San Diego, continuing to focus on machine learning systems, optimization, and research engineering.

Graduated from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham with a B.Tech in CSE (AI)

Completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence.
